To apply for EMT Recertification you will need to complete the following steps:
1. Successfully complete 24 NJ approved CEUís and Refreshers A, B, and C totaling 48 CEUs.
2. Log into your existing account at NJEMS.US (Do not create a new account). The 6-Digit EMS ID is the EMT number printed on your EMT card.

When to Create an Account
If you have ever applied for or held any NJ EMS certification, you already have an account. Please login with your EMS ID number and password. If you can`t remember your login info, contact OEMS Helpdesk for assistance. Do NOT create a new account.
If you have NEVER applied for or held any NJ EMS certification, you can create an account today. Use your Full Legal Name (no abbreviations or nicknames) -- your account must be created using the same name as your government-issued ID. Record your EMS ID number and password so that you can access your account in future!
Registering for a Class
Class schedules are posted based on the submission of course sponsors. If you are looking for a class during a particular time period or with a specific sponsor, contact the program sponsor directly. To register for an EMT Initial Education course as a New Student:

To register for ceu classes you will need to contact the course instructor directly via the contact information provided in the course catalog (location to be determined). In order to receive credit for elective courses, make sure to obtain a course completion certificate which includes but is not limited to the following: course name, location, date, time of course offering, OEMS ceu approval number and instructor name. This information should be made available to all class attendees for their personal record keeping. OEMS encourages that all EMTs maintain their own ceu files separate from any other means of record keeping. For convenience the EMS 28 (PA-NJ CEU Form) can be used as an acceptable method of providing proof of class/ course attendance. This form can be downloaded from the NJ DOH website at PA/NJ CEU FORM
Re-Entry Candidates and Initial Challenge Candidates
When you have successfully completed refresher requirements (Refresher Courses A, B, and C must be marked "Successfully Completed" in your Transcript), you must create an account at NREMT Website, apply for your desired credential and register for an examination.
Replacement Certification Cards
OEMS does not issue replacement cards for Address Changes. To meet your regulatory requirement to notify OEMS of changes to your address and contact information, log in on this site, click the Profile tab, and enter and save your changes.
To change your legal name, send your request and supporting documents to OEMS by email to firstname.lastname@example.org with subject line "Name Change"). Acceptable supporting documents include as Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Court Order, Divorce Decree and/or current Driver`s License. Include your EMS ID number and your current contact information in your request. You will receive a confirmation email when your request has been processed, and an updated certification card will be sent to you via USPS mail.
If you need a replacement card for any other reason, email email@example.com with subject line "Replacement Card," and tell us your EMS ID number, name, telephone number, and the reason you need a replacement card. You will receive a confirmation email when your request has been processed. All certification cards are delivered via USPS mail and usually arrive within 7-10 business days.

Letters are processed in the order received, and processing usually takes 3-6 weeks. If you do not provide a self-addressed stamped envelope or your request is incomplete, your letter(s) will NOT be processed.
If the receiving state agency accepts faxed/emailed copies, you may submit your request by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with subject line "Verification Letter" and telling us the point of contact of for the receiving state agency, their email or fax number, and your EMS ID number and contact information. Emailed or faxed letters are already accepted by some states, including several regional councils in Pennsylvania, the NY OEMS, and the NJ Physicians Assistant Advisory Committee. Faxed or emailed verification letters will only be sent to an authorized state or local certifying agency.
