| Additional Information: | This 4-hour EMT-level training program provides instruction in vehicle rescue and extrication in accordance with current NFPA standards and applicable local and national guidelines. The course includes both didactic and practical components covering scene safety, hazard recognition, supplemental restraint systems, vehicle stabilization, patient access, disentanglement, and patient removal. Training will be conducted with a minimum of six (6) students per class, maintaining a student-to-instructor ratio not to exceed 8:1 (preferred 6:1). A minimum of one (1) vehicle per eight (8) students will be provided for hands-on training. Upon completion, participants will demonstrate competency in scene management, use of personal protective equipment, stabilization techniques (including cribbing and chocking), safe use of tools, and patient packaging and removal. Successful completion of a 25-question written examination is required. |
