| Additional Information: | Airborne pathogens spread through the air (coughing, sneezing), like tuberculosis or COVID-19, while bloodborne pathogens spread via blood/bodily fluids (needlesticks), like HIV or Hepatitis B/C. Though distinct, some courses cover both, emphasizing prevention with PPE (gloves, masks) and universal precautions for risks in healthcare, labs, and first response. Key examples include airborne TB/flu vs. bloodborne HIV/Hep B/C, with employers needing control plans for workplace safety. Transmission. Bloodborne Pathogens consist of the direct contact with infected blood or certain bodily fluids (semen, saliva, cerebrospinal fluid). we will explain examples Hepatitis B (HBV), Hepatitis C (HCV), Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
